We wanted to try this place out for quite some time. There was once when we went there on Monday afternoon during their business hour and the restaurant wasn’t open and we have no idea why. Anyway, this time, we went there on Wednesday night and fortunately it was open.

Here are our side dishes which is known as banchan (반찬) in Korean. We were served with 5 different side dishes as can be seen from the photo above. They tasted quite well but we were hoping that they can provide more variety. By the way, in a Korean restaurant, these side dishes are free and they can be replenished when they are finished. One of the most well-known and also our favourite side dish is the cabbage kimchi.

For our main dish, we ordered kimchi jigae (김치찌개). The main ingredients include kimchi, tofu, green onion, onion and pork. The older the kimchi used, the stronger and flavourful the stew is. This is one of our all time favourite dish in Korean food.

For our second main dish, we ordered soondubu jigae (순두부찌개) which is soft bean curd stew. Perhaps it looks similar to kimchi jigae, but it actually tasted quite different from it. Soondubu jigae is cooked with spicy seafood stock and some restaurants will add dried shrimps into the stew.
Kimchi jigae and soondubu jigae cost RM15 each. The bill totaled up to RM30 and there were no charges for the banchan, water, service charge and government tax. You could try it out if you’re interested.
